Literacy sessions are about more than just skills—they’re about confidence, curiosity, and connection. Our therapists are trained, experienced, and passionate about helping kids unlock the joy of reading and writing.
We know that literacy is more than just reading and writing, it’s the foundation for learning, communication, and confidence. Our Literacy Support service helps children and teens who are finding reading, spelling, or written expression difficult, using evidence-based strategies tailored to their needs.
Whether your child has a diagnosed learning difference or is simply struggling to keep up, we work with families to uncover the root of the challenge and build a path forward.
We work with children and young people who are experiencing difficulties in one or more areas of literacy, including:
Reading and Decoding – recognising words, sounding them out, and making sense of what’s on the page
Spelling and Phonological Awareness – understanding how sounds connect with letters and patterns
Written Expression – developing vocabulary, sentence structure, and story organisation
Reading Comprehension – making sense of what’s read, drawing inferences, and recalling information
Letter Formation and Writing Fluency – improving the mechanics of handwriting
Learning Differences and Dyslexia – support for students with diagnosed or suspected literacy-based learning differences
We also support children’s confidence and mindset around learning, offering a space where they feel safe to try, stretch, and succeed.
